Auto Repair Shop

SEO & PPC Case Study

The client in this study is a local auto repair shop in the Chicagoland area that serves our community. Previously, they used the digital marketing services provided by their CMS that hosted their website. However, they came to us looking to expand their reach and visibility within the community through SEO, PPC, & their Facebook account.

Strategy in Action

Over a Period of Two Years

Our Strategy

Initially, our priority targets were high-volume services such as oil changes and tire services. This was a “foot-in-the-door” strategy, wherein we established a connection with a large pool of local customers. The idea being after they receive great service from our client, they wouldn’t want to take their car anywhere else, whether for a small service or large repairs

SEO: We implemented a relatively straightforward local SEO strategy.

  1. On-page optimization for their existing landing pages as well as building out a few more to target second-priority queries.
  2. We created a variety of NAP citations in local and auto-focused directories.
  3. Supplement with linkbuilding and blog posts.

PPC: We built multiple geo-focused campaigns across Google and Meta. Google search campaigns captured customers actively hunting for services, while display campaigns owned the Chicagoland area’s digital real estate. Meta used still images and videos to showcase seasonal promos. We kept copy and creative fresh with continuous optimization, segmented campaigns by service type for laser-focused spend, and delivered optimized for qualified leads.

Social Media: We built a content calendar that positioned Dwells as the community mechanic, not just another shop. Educational posts (maintenance tips, seasonal advice) mixed with community highlights (local events, customer stories) and service showcases. Consistent, authentic content that turned their Facebook page from a digital billboard into an actual community hub. The payoff: organic growth, real engagement, and customers who don’t just recommend Dwells—they tag them, share them, and champion them across local groups.
